The Founders

The artists responsible for Stepping Up Creatives are Kate Blythe and Kari Anderson. Two Vancouver BC Film and Television Makeup artists. Both love working in film but they have decided they need something more, and helping the community grow through education is their next move. So the decision to start a company that facilitates further training for film industry professionals seemed like the logical move. So far the response has been great with members of the community wanting to teach classes and help elevate the skillset of the community.

She has spent the last decade focusing on film. Past and recent projects include; Wayward Pines, The Flash, Sixand Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Kate Blythe

Kate is originally from the UK and has been working in TV and Film since 2002, starting her career in London, working on Live Studio Audience Entertainment shows as a Graphics Operator. She made the switch over to makeup and hasn’t looked back. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Media Production from the University of Bedfordshire, a Makeup for Film and Television Certificate from the London College of Fashion, and a Diploma in Makeup Artistry from John Casablancas. She has been a Makeup Artist for 15 years and has been an IATSE member since 2014. They are both extremely excited as to where Stepping Up Creative Film Training my go, and hope one day that it becomes one of the go to training facilities for short courses.
